Albacore and Striper Trips

Albacore and Striper Trips

Albacore and Stripers Montauk, Orient Point NY and surrounding waters are some of the finest areas in which to enjoy saltwater fly fishing. The area is the perfect place for newer anglers to develop their skills or for seasoned veterans to perfect their techniques. The waters’ False Albacore, Bonito, Striped Bass, Tuna and Bluefish will give you a challenging fight three seasons of the year in a variety of environments — off the beach, in the flats or from a boat in open water. Though there are many fish roaming the waters of Long Island’s North Fork, few are as challenging and rewarding to pursue as False Albacore. Built like machines, Albies are incredibly fast and can be found in groups ranging in size from three to seven individuals all the way up to hundreds or thousands. Some fish allow anglers time to plan their attacks and take their time, but not Albies. You better be ready to cast at a moment’s notice because the fish will be gone as fast as they appeared and you’ll be again trying to anticipate their next move. Catch one and you’ll never forget it. Following is a list of guides in the area. thumbnail-502.jpgCAPTAIN JEFF BECKER Guiding 12+ years Seen on “Reel Guys” on ESPN 2, Tim Rajeff on the “LL Bean Guide to the Outdoors” Season: May – November Targeting: striped bass, blues, bonito and false albacore Hatch and Scott Fly Rods pro staff.
